With the dismissal of the Maori Council’s water rights claim to the Supreme Court and the submission of the Anti-Asset Sales petition for a referendum, one phase of the broad campaign against the sale of assets has ended and the next has begun.
13 people have appeared in the Auckland District Court this morning, following arrests at Glen Innes last Thursday evening. Included in those arrested is Mana co-Vice President John Minto.
One hundred people marched in central Auckland yesterday in a show of solidarity with the people of Gaza, and to voice anger at the continued aggression by Israeli forces against defenseless women and children.
Around 300 people marched from Aotea Square to the US consulate in Auckland on Saturday, in solidarity with Gaza, calling for an end to Israeli attacks on the Gazan population and the illegal occupation of Palestinian lands.
