10 minutes to save bees

Bees are critical to our global food supply -- and a new study has confirmed yet again that pesticides pose a threat to their survival! But over and again, Europe's governments have delayed a vote to ban these bee-killers.

Now the EU has opened an official consultation to gather public opinion -- it's our chance to hold their feet to the fire. If we flood this process with demands for a ban, we can help make it a reality -- with the next possible vote just weeks away.

Insiders have told Avaaz that for the consultation to add the right pressure, it needs tens of thousands of submissions, and right now they've only got a few thousand. But we have more than 4 million signers of our bees petition -- together we can drive up the numbers in minutes. There's just 48 hours left -- let's all do our part and help ensure a safe food future for us all:

Click to tell Europe: Save our bees!

According to opinion polls commissioned by Avaaz in the past few weeks, more than 3 in 4 Europeans want a full ban on neonicotinoid pesticides. On top of that, the weight of evidence that these pesticides are killing our bees is crushing, with Europe's food safety authority recently confirming it. Yet European governments continue to dither.

They've just delayed a full vote on a full ban again, pushing it back to May. That means they're making their decisions now, and we've got a chance to show them that citizens are watching -- and demanding action.

This consultation is designed to be complex and technocratic, but it also holds massive and far-ranging potential for protection. If we show massive public support for our bees -- including for a full neonicotinoid ban -- we can win. Join in using the link below -- it just takes minutes to help save the bees for good:

We know this works! Together, we’ve flooded these consultations before -- in 2016, hundreds of thousands of us stood up for net neutrality and won; and just months ago, we did the same for an EU ivory consultation, and now a European ivory ban is within grasp. Together, we are powerful. Let’s use that people power for our pollinators.

With hope and determination,

Antonia, Danny, Anneke, Mélanie and the rest of the Avaaz team
