CANA SummerFest 2017 - Coal, Cows and Climate

Fonterra_poster

Growth in the dairy industry is resurrecting coal – and killing the climate. Join CANA **21-23 January** for a summer camp: network with other activists, share information and stories, learn more about NVDA and plan an action.

Sat 21 Jan - Mon 23 Jan, Ashburton

Growth in the dairy industry is resurrecting coal – and killing the climate. 95% of Fonterra’s milk is made into powder for export and MOST OF THAT POWDER IS DRIED USING COAL – the dirtiest fossil fuel on the planet. There is an alternative. Fonterra could use wood waste – but while there’s no price on carbon they have no incentive to do this. They won’t stop using coal until we make them.

Summerfest will include all levels of participation for a weekend of family-friendly climate networking, sharing, nonviolent direct action training and action. CANA is committed to peaceful, creative nonviolent action - all participants will be required to agree to this Kaupapa

A great opportunity to get together with climate activists from other organisations around New Zealand for a weekend of discussion, action and fun. Come and join us!
