Victoria University of Wellington and Wellington City Council, invite you to a special lecture series on urban sustainability given by Professor Chris Daniels from the University of South Australia.
Professor Daniels will give three free public lectures on urban sustainability topics, over the course of three days in November.
Professor Daniels is the Director of the Barbara Hardy Institute for Urban Sustainability at the University of South Australia. He is also an award-winning science communicator. His book Adelaide Nature of a City was awarded the Whitley Medal from the Royal Zoological Society of NSW, a Planning Institute of Australia Commendation and the President's Award from the Australian Institute of Landscape Architects.
- Tuesday 13 November: Citizen Science: bringing science into your backyard. 12.30-1.30pm, Wellington City Council Chambers, Town Hall, Wakefield Street.
- Wednesday 14 November: Will the environment constrain population growth? Lessons from Adelaide. 3-4pm, Victoria University, Level 12 Boardroom, Rutherford House, Bunny Street.
- Thursday 15 November: Why cities need nature. Lessons from Adelaide. 12.30-1.30pm, Wellington City Council Chambers, Town Hall, Wakefield Street.
