In October, a historic act of resistance will send the clear message from the Pacific Islands to the fossil fuel industry: We are not drowning. We are fighting.

Join us on October 18th to show them that as New Zealanders we stand in solidarity with them.

350 Aotearoa and Oil Free Wellington invite you to come along to Wellington waterfront (Odlin’s Plaza, in front of Mac’s Brewery) to send our message across the seas that we stand with our Pacific Neighbours, and that we commit to showing our solidarity by standing against the fossil fuel industry here in Aotearoa.

People from across the Pacific Islands are journeying to Australia right now, where, in late October, they will use a flotilla of traditional canoes to lay down a peaceful but direct challenge to the fossil fuel industry at the world’s largest coal port - Newcastle.

The Pacific Warriors have asked that people from around the world stand with them in solidarity as they stand to say “we will not let the fossil fuel industry continue the destruction of our homes”.

We will be forming a giant message of solidarity for the Pacific Warriors. There will also be a chance to hear about upcoming ways to get involved in local resistance against the fossil fuel industry.

As our Pacific neighbours rise to fight for their homes, let’s stand with them and show our support.

12 noon to 1 pm Saturday 18th October at Odlin’s Plaza, in front of Mac’s Brewery, Wellington waterfront.
