Black Lives Matter - A Drag Show Fundraiser

1450742-637306-34

BLACK LIVES MATTER. And we're doing something to help.

We as drag performers are blessed to have a platform to talk about serious issues, and now we're using this platform to help the lives of black individuals who are suffering in unlawful & horrible acts of violence and discrimination. Individuals of colour have always faced discrimination, but now it's time to focus on those black lives because their freedom is being threatened and we won't accept this.

We will be raising funds for 3 important organisations:

  • NAACP: The mission of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) is to secure the political, educational, social, and economic equality of rights in order to eliminate race-based discrimination and ensure the health and well-being of all persons.

  • The Okra Project (Also in relation to the Nina Pop Mental Health recovery fund & the Tony McDade Mental Health): The Okra Project is a collective that seeks to address the global crisis faced by Black Trans people by bringing home-cooked, healthy, and culturally specific meals and resources to Black Trans People wherever we can reach them.

  • Black Trans Protesters Emergency Fund: In partnership with the Black Trans Travel Fund, For the Gworls and The Okra Project, we are raising funds to support Black trans protesters with resources, medical care and bail.

All ticket sales will go straight to these charities as well as donations taken on the night.

OVERFLOW TICKETS: We are setting up an overflow section on the dance floor at Ivy Bar, where we will be projecting the show from the stage onto a screen where you can still enjoy the show and still be with the audience <3 20 of these tickets will be made available!
