Wellington Trades Hall Bombing Remembered
Commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Wellington Trades Hall bombing, which took the life of Caretaker Ernie Abbott. At the time of the bombing (5:19pm) there will be a minutes silence.
Wellington trade unionists are planning to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Trades Hall bombing with a 5pm function at Trades Hall on Thursday March 27.
No one has ever been brought to justice for the bombing, which took the life of Trades Hall caretaker Ernie Abbott.
Prominent trade unionists including CTU secretary Peter Conway, Secretary of the Wellington Trades Hall Inc Graeme Clarke and Paul Tolich from the EPMU will speak at the function.
At the time of the 1984 bombing, 5:19pm, guests will observe a minutes silence.
