Protest outside TAG Oil tomorrow

The good news is you're invited to a protest in New Plymouth tomorrow at TAG Oil to tell them we've had enough of fossil fuels.

Tena koutou katoa,

The last month has brought extreme storms across Europe, a deep freeze in
North America and crazy heat waves in Australia that caused hundreds of
thousands of bats to plummet from the skies to their deaths. Climate
change anyone? The good news is you're invited to a protest in New
Plymouth tomorrow at TAG Oil to tell them we've had enough of fossil
fuels. Come along to the protest outside TAG Oil tomorrow, Friday, 10th
January at 11am, 119 St Aubyn St, New Plymouth - SAVE THE MAUNGA!

Climate Justice Taranaki is supporting this protest organised by local iwi
and hapu. If you are coming in from coastal Taranaki, jump on the weekly
bus from Opunake (more info here:

banners and signs.

TAG Oil are planning to drill at a site in Rowan Road, on the southern
side of Mt Taranaki and establish an oil and gas production station at
Mahoe. TAG Oil have received resource consent from Taranaki Regional
Council to drill up to eight oil and gas wells just 220 metres from the Mt
Taranaki National Park boundary.

It is an absolute disgrace that TAG Oil will be able to drill so close to
our sacred maunga. Horizontal drilling could enter the National Park
beneath the surface making a travesty of the government's exemption from
mining in Schedule 4 National Parks. Join us in telling TAG Oil - NO!
