Stop the seismic survey
Turn Back The Beast rally Rally
Parliament 12.30-1.30 this Tuesday
From our friends in Taranaki
Multinational oil and gas giant Schlumberger has started a huge 3D-seismic survey off the Taranaki coast. The ‘Amazon Warrior’ ship has returned to Aotearoa after being chased away from the East Coast.
Drilling in a known whale feeding and nursing ground? We don’t think so!
More emissions while the climate is changing? We don’t think so!
Risking further oil spills on our pristine coast? We don’t think so!
Community opposition to mining is growing across Aotearoa. Thousands of people have signed petitions here against this seismic survey. Iwi, hapū and community groups have come out in opposition to further drilling. Raise your voice now in defence of the ocean and the climate.
Tell Minister of Energy Megan Woods to revoke the Schlumberger permit now and to leave fossil fuels in the ground (email@example.com). A world without fossil fuels is inevitable so: switch to an electric vehicle, use a renewable energy provider or get your own solar panels, plant trees, grow food and help others transition – let’s work together to create a just and ecologically sustainable future.
