Protect Our Beaches – Stop Deep Sea Oil Drilling Muriwai Beach Public Meeting. The National Government has recently announced plans to allow deep sea drilling off the West Coast of Auckland. Just imagine an oil spill washing up on our iconic West Coast beaches like Muriwai. If we had a leak from a deep sea oil rig, the damage to our environment, economy and reputation would be catastrophic. Join Catherine Delahunty MP with guest speakers from Kiwis Against Seabed Mining, Deep Sea Oil Watch Auckland and Oil Free Auckland at the Muriwai Beach public meeting on Sunday 4th August to learn more about the drilling and talk about what you can do to get involved with the campaign to stop it. – See more here
