National Front chased away

More than a hundred anti-fascists prevented a small group of National Front members from assembling in Wellington for their annual “flag day”.

The 5-strong NF contingent, who omitted to bring any flags, could not overcome a hastily locked gate at the entrance of parliament grounds and were subsequently chased down the street and to the train station.

There it turned out that another small group of them had not made it to the “flag day” because they got stuck in the pub.

Prior to the arrival of the NF, there had been speeches by Teanau Tuiono, Green Party MP Golriz Ghahraman and others to commemorate the beginning of the Land Wars and the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
