Waihopai trial update (Wednesday)
The crown finished its case on Monday afternoon. On Tuesday, court was largely behind closed doors 'in chambers' as various legal arguments were made. Late on Tuesday afternoon, Adi Leason took the stand to begin his 'evidence in chief'. He continued that this morning, and his cross examination by the crown had begun just before lunch. The crown were trying some dodgy questioning techniques using affidavits of people who were not going to be called and thus Adi's lawyer rightfully objected.
After lunch, court was adjourned as a juror has fallen ill. Court is expected to resume tomorrow morning at 10am.
