"Bringing together the ideas of those who have worked with, researched, and lived homeless, PUTTING HOMELESSNESS IN FOCUS explores the impact of this hidden problem on the many New Zealanders who experience it, on the society that fails to recognise it."
Methodist City Action is hosting a koha screening of the new documentary about homelessness in New Zealand with film-makers Charlie Bleakley (threedollarpictures) and Kate Amore (University of Otago) on Friday 27th June at 6pm. The screening will be followed by discussion with local researchers and professionals involved in working with homelessness in Hamilton. Koha will be donated to the Hamilton Christian Nightshelter.
The staff at the Methodist Centre have regular contact with individuals who are homeless in Hamilton, and encourage the wider community to come along to this screening to learn more about this often misunderstood and marginalized community.
This event is open to all – public, government and non-government agencies, and those who have experienced homelessness.
