Auckland anti-vivisection protest updates/changes!
URGENT UPDATE: Vivisection conference cancelled in Auckland, but events still going ahead and protests will be happening at new locations!
The ANZCCART conference that was due to take place this weekend has been abruptly cancelled after the Ellerslie Event Centre refused to host the event. In a statement the Ellerslie Event Centre said they were unaware of the true nature of the conference but once they discovered it was an animal experimentation conference they sent out the following statement:
'The Ellerslie Event Centre has advised that the ANZCCART event from Sunday June 30 until Tuesday 1st July will no longer be taking place at the Event Centre'.

Protest details for Monday 30th June and Tuesday 1st: We will be meeting at 100 Ascot Ave on Monday 7am and Tuesday 12 midday and will be going from there to protest outside other animal testing organizations.

They are obviously having the conference an another location like they have done before. Are you going to find them or just let them get away with having their secret conference?

I have a friend who works there who says they were never preparing for a conference for ANZCART and that it is likely it was just a ploy for protesters to focus their attension there.

Given that the vivisector's accommodation was booked at hotels within the Ellerslie Event Centre complex, it would be very hard for the conference organisers to find accommodation for 80 approx people elsewhere at such short notice in Auckland city.

Nah their leaving man. I just bin down to the novotel for a snoop and must be like 30-40 people getting into shuttles and stuff. Didn't recognise nobody but they weren't Japanese tourists. It's a real pain to get there too, can't we meet somewhere more central? Seems stupid to go way out there when there's nuthin' doin.

Urgent update!
The conference has been moved to the Waipuna hotel and conference centre!
Same times, same everyhitng, but they have canged the location. Please let everyone know! There has to be a way to inform the others. The animals need us!
