When: 6pm-9pm Monday May 12,
Where: Cityside Church, 8A Mt. Eden Road, Newton
What: a forum for anarchists and interested people to discuss and share information on activism and organizing around the city and the world.

*Fur Free Auckland Campaign and upcoming ANZCART Summit, (anti-Vivisection Protest)

*Autonomous activism and organizing in Britain and Israel

*Recent Climate Change activism in Auckland

*Report on national Anarcha-Feminist Conference

*Update on situation of Danny "Vegas" Wilson, former Auckland anarchist, now in jail in the US for rioting on May Day.
(please bring a gold coin or so, to help raise funds for Danny's bail bond, which is US$5000)

Awesome stuff. Hope that the meeting results in a more organised anarchist crew in Auckland. Would be great if you can keep your blog up to date and perhaps put a contact email on there too.

What do you mean by this? As organised as Wellington lol? An updated blog? You mean like the Wellington anachist one agreed at the Anarchist conference which never seemed to have happened?

30 people attended the inaugural Auckland anarchist assembly to hear presentations from Father Peter Murnane, recently out of a Blenheim police cell; Tyler on the upcoming Jesus Radicals conference; Simon and Ingrid, to show some photos of their trip to the Phillipines (http://www.flickr.com/photos/simonoosterman/; MZ on the upcoming protests against ANZCART and the fur free ak campaign; Gary on climate sceptics; Miriam on the A-fem conference; and Omar on Danny's arrest. Heaps of yummy soup was eaten and chocolate and cake eaten and some $$ for Danny was raised.
