Auckland Protest

in

Today around 1000 supporters of those arrested took to the streets of Auckland. They were calling for the immediate and unconditional release of all those arrested under a pretext of terrorism, the three and a half hour long protest went several kilometres from central Auckland to the remand prison in Newmarket. At the prison Tame Iti's son spoke, along with Rongomai Bailey - arrested in the raids - and many others spoke of the grave injustice being committed before us. Many members of Tuhoe travelled to Auckland for the protest and led the march in haka.

I don't think Rongomai is related to Tame Iti. Rawiri Iti is the arrestee who is related to Tame.

Re: Re: Auckland Protest

Thats just a misreading, Strypey, he's saying Tame's son AND Rongomai spoke.

Re: Re: Re: Auckland Protest

could someone please edit the post to make it clear and then remove our comments? i 'misread' in the same way Strypey did.

I've edited the post to remove the ambiguity. I will leave these comments in for accountability of editors. BTW We are chronically short of editorial volunteers at the moment. Anyone who wants to help declutter the newswire and write features please get in contact:

Re: Auckland Protest

to see the Ho Ho's and pakehas together in these pics is like seeing the USA born. no shit.
if the cops are smart they'll figure out a way to appologise and retire the upper eschelons, pardon the pun, to history. start afresh with modern cops, the colour blind kind.
