Return of the Whenua o tatau Tupuna

in

Tena Koutou Katoa,
Well we are moving forward in our Occupation. Last night we had Manuhiri come to listen to our Korero and our history. They included Matua Andy Surich prominent Maori Leader and great friend of Uncle Glass.

He told some wonderful stories and events that they were involved in. He was extremely supportive of our stand and gave us courage to carry on. We informed him of the history and current situation.
Remember that its better to hear it from the horses mouth and to really get a true understanding of the Kaupapa you must be standing beneath our Maunga and on the Land.
Today I contacted Paul Humphries after looking at their website brochure to sell Whakakoro. Click here to see it. They are still moving ahead with the proposed mortgagee tender despite being told about the issues. They are still promoting Whakakoro as a subdivision dreamland, with many potential house sites. This is misrepresentation and they DONT CARE.
We need to let them know that Whakakoro is not to be sold off to the highest bidder and cut up for development.
Make your stand for the Kaupapa and register your opposition. Tell him this land is not for sale and that it needs to be returned to the Hapu. Contact him on

Don't let them get away with their greedy intensions.
Let us know your thoughts, we are Te Hau Kainga, the ones who ensure your ancestral rights are protected. The ones who Mow and clean the Marae, who made the dream of erecting our new whare hui a reality, the ones who manaki nga manuhiri on behalf of Ngati Haua at every Hui, The ones who represent the wider whanau to ensure our collective voice is heard, We all have made our sacrifices to make this stand and will continue to do so on behalf of the other whanau who are away and on behalf of the generations to come.
We dont do this for MONEY, we do this for the return of the whenua o Tatau Tupuna.
Mihi atu ki a koutou
Richard Murray
