Help stop redundancies at the University of Auckland
AUS members are asked to register their opposition to proposed restructuring in the faculties of Education, Business and Arts at the University of Auckland, with the consequential loss of 54 jobs.

Those being made redundant are some of the most esteemed staff in the faculties, and it appears that the restructuring is being undertaken without proper regard for either the integrity of teaching programmes or normal procedures of academic decision-making.

THESE FOLKS ABOUT TO BE SACKED ARE, UNLIKE MANY OF YOU AUS FEE PAYERS OUT THERE, ACTUALLY IMPORTANT PEOPLE, SO WE ARE GOING TO AT LEAST GO THROUGH THE MOTIONS ON THIS ONE. READ ON.

An email postcard has been developed, urging the Vice-Chancellor to work with the AUS and staff at Auckland to develop a process that minimizes the impact on staff and preserves the reputation of the University of Auckland.
