in which way is that better? the other article has imho pixelated blurring but you can clearly say who is who if you already know the people depictured.

Just wondered why the faces were blanked out. They never used to be before on photos. Are there actually privacy issues with crowd photos. If so, most photos in the paper would be in breach.
I was at the demo and it was really well organised and great to see so many people. Phil the vegan.

well, i blackened out the faces, because i did not want to publish faces of people who might have committed an offense at some other place that day. might be a wee bit overcautious, but if you want to have a copy of the clear picture, come to Oblong in Left Bank and talk to me.

It's not just for those that might have committed an offence, it's for everyone who stands up against the powers that control us and suffer the harrasments of cops and security guards and PIs etc who follow us and spy into our private lives.

it's obvious. their faces are blacked out so none of their familys recognise them. they are too embarassed by their own actions to let anyone identify them. also WINZ will be able to identify them and rightly cut the benefits off that they are all getting illegaly.

Dear 'discusted', they don't look very scary. I'd be more scared sitting next to an arms dealer at the bus stop.

Its cool that faces are blurred out, but even better would be pixelated blurring (as opposed to the black).

Why are peoples faces blacked out? If it's news, shouldn't we se regular photos of the events?
