Anti-Bypass protestors arrested in Wellington
Two anti-Bypass protestors were arrested today during a peaceful rally.
Protestors had attached banners to the perimeter fence of the work site, with prior approval of the site manager. This afternoon the project manager, Nick Miller, attempted to forcibly remove the banners. Two protestors who tried to stop him were arrested and charged with wilful damage. No further details are available at this stage.
This incident follows a heated exchange between protestors and a worker yesterday at the Willis Street site. It is alleged that a Fulton Hogan worker threatened a female protestor with a knife. The worker has not yet been charged by police.
The fight continues! Contact ABA for more information on how you can stop this unnecessary road.

charges have been dropped now :)
Re: Anti-Bypass protestors arrested in Wellington
Both protesters have now been released without charge. Both protesters were arrested for an alleged crime which was said to be committed by only one person. To me this seems like another case of the police breaking up a demonstration by indiscriminately arresting people for no good reason.
Re: Anti-Bypass protestors arrested in Wellington
A complaint was made against Nick Miller, project manager of Fulton Hogan, for assault.
Nick Miller was pushing at least one protester. The police didn’t seem terribly interested (surprise surprise) and were busy arresting innocent people.
The ‘bypass’ is not a done deal at all!
The Te Aro community will make sure that this motorway is not being built.

They have more cameras, we should get more cameras.
Anyone get footage of Nick Millar pushing people?
Re: Anti-Bypass protestors arrested in Wellington
so what has Keri offered to the police, do they have an insentive per protestor? Maybe a flash new baton that is extra long and hard.
